Requirements

  • Renter must be at least 21 years old and present a driver’s license.
  • Children under the age of 13 are required to wear life preservers prior to boarding (available on the dock).
  • No swimming or fishing from our boats.
  • No pets. We love pets, but we cannot accommodate them on our boats.
  • Our route is mostly residential, so please – no loud parties aboard our boats on the quiet lagoon.

We offer private drivers for after hours or sunset evening cruises including the July 4th fireworks. Let our private driver take you on a guided picturesque cruise of the Foster City Lagoon. Perfect for a romantic moment.

FAQs

Are the boats hard to drive?
Duffy electric boats are relaxing and fun and very easy to drive.  We’ll provide a safety briefing and operating instructions to the renter (and driver if different). No special licensing is required.  The renter will need to present a valid driver’s license at check out and the credit card used to book.

Are these party boats?
The Foster City Lagoon is in a mostly residential area. We rent our electric boats for quiet lagoon cruises and picnics. All of our Duffy’s have Bluetooth stereo, but please keep volumes moderate as a courtesy to our neighbors.

How fast do the boats go?
Gas powered boats are not permitted in the Foster City Lagoon.  All our boats are are electric powered with a maximum speed of 5 mph.  It is fast enough to tour the lagoon in two hours and relax.

What if it rains?
The ALL-WEATHER Duffys keep you cozy all year long. Drop down clear windows keeps the rain and wind out to enjoy a special time on the water rain or shine. We operate year round and our Duffys are also fun in a light rain or when there’s a chance of showers. (We cancel only for storms.)

Are there any age restrictions?
Renters must be at least 21 years old. All children under the age of 13 by law are required to wear life preservers before boarding (available at the dock). We see a lot of three generation groups and sometimes even four generations!

Can I bring my pet?
Sorry, no pets. We love pets, but we cannot accommodate them on our boats.

How far can I take the boat?
It takes about two hours to explore the full 4 mile length of the main channel of the Foster City Lagoon in a Duffy Electric Boat. You’ll see the original Isles of Foster City, Ryan Park with the Amphitheatre and Metro Tower.  After passing under the Beach Park “Bicentennial” bridge you will pass Edgewater Shopping Center, and continue on as far as Sea Cloud Park. View Route Map
